The 11 Biggest Chicago Tech Hires in February

RedBox

Chicago-based video rental company RedBox announced it has hired Ash Eldifrawi as its chief marketing and customer experience officer. Prior to joining RedBox, Eldifrawi was the chief commercial officer at Gogo, and before that was the CMO at Hayneedle. He also spent time at Google and Wrigley.

Outcome Health 

Chicago health technology platform Outcome Health (formerly ContextMedia) announced it has hired Vivek Kundra as its EVP of Provider Solutions. Kundra was the first CIO of the United States during the Obama administration, and most recently served as executive vice president at Salesforce.

Gogo

Chicago-based in-flight WiFi provider Logo announced it has hired Patrick Carroll as its regional president in Asia Pacific. Carroll previously worked in management roles in the Asia Pacific region at Airbus and BAE System.

SpringCM

Chicago document and sales contract management solution SpringCM announced it has hired Dan Dal Degan as its new CEO. Degan, a veteran software executive, was one of the first 100 employees at Salesforce. He previously served on SpringCM’s board of directors.

Techstars Chicago

Techstars Chicago announced that it has hired Logan LaHive, the founder and former CEO of Chicago startup Belly, as the accelerator’s managing director. He takes over for Troy Henikoff, who co-founded the Chicago program in 2010.

JLL 

Chicago-based real estate giant Jones Lang LaSalle announced that it has hired Mike DeNamur as the VP of its Smart Building team. In the new role, DeNamur will help companies understand how to apply Internet of Things technology and smart building strategies to drive business results in commercial and corporate real estate, JLL said. He most recently served as the director of Americas sales and marketing with United Technologies’ Building Solutions group.

Avant

Chicago online lending startup Avant announced that it has hired Grant Miles as its chief risk officer. Miles most recently served as chief risk officer and executive vice president for banking giant HSBC‘s US Consumer and Mortgage Lending businesses.

FourKites

Chicago logistics startup FourKites announced that it has hired Yang Chao as its chief financial officer. Prior to FourKites, Yang served as the senior vice president of finance at Chicago gift card marketplace Raise, and before that was the vice president of finance at Gogo.

LotLinx

LotLinks, a Chicago-based digital marketing solution for car dealers, announced it has hired Eric Brown as its president and chief product officer. Brown is known for founding Dataium, a tech company that tracks the online habits of car shoppers.

ITA

The Illinois Technology Association named Julia Kanouse as its new CEO. Kanouse, who was previously an executive at the National Restaurant Association, takes over for Fred Hoch, who was named executive chairman. Kanouse first joined the ITA in 2015.

Jellyvision

Chicago-based Jellyvision, a maker of employee communication software, announced it has promoted Jessica Watts to its VP of sales. At just 28, Watts has moved up quickly through the ranks at Jellyvision, having been hired in 2015 as a senior account executive and later promoted to director of new business.
